The beginning stages of a painting are always such a mess! Tone the canvas, block in the shapes, then start modeling the subject. Now comes the real work, I must make the lions look like lions and then start building up the grass. Yes, one blade of grass at a time!
So far, with the preliminary sketches and work on the canvas, I have about 40 hours into this. It does look like much yet but it is getting there!
